John C. Campbell Folk School

The John C. Campbell Folk School, also referred to as "The Folk School" is located in Brasstown, North Carolina, along the Cherokee County and Clay line. The school was founded to nurture and preserve the folk arts of the Appalachian Mountains.

Folk Art Center

The Folk Art Center showcases the finest in traditional and contemporary craft of the Southern Appalachians. It houses the Southern Highland Craft Guild’s century-old Allanstand Craft Shop, exhibitions in three galleries, a library, auditorium, and a cooperating association book store and Parkway information desk. Guild artisans demonstrate a variety of arts and crafts in the Folk Art Center lobby.

The Guild’s Permanent Collection is featured in an exhibition of craft from Appalachia. The Folk Art Center was opened in 1980 as a cooperative effort between the Guild, the National Park Service and the Appalachian Regional Commission. The center is open year round except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

Moses Cone

The Moses H. Cone Memorial Park is a country estate in honor of Moses H. Cone in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. It is on the Blue Ridge Parkway between mileposts 292 and 295 with access at milepost 294. Most locals call it Cone Park. The park is run by the National Park Service and is open to the public.

Southern Highland Guild in Biltmore Village

This gallery is the newest edition to the Southern Highland Guild organization. Formerly the 1928 Biltmore-Oteen Bank, this Art Deco building is now home to the works of nearly 200 local artisans. Surrounded by the historic charm of the village, our gallery provides a beautiful setting to shop for handmade jewelry, decor, pottery, glass, and more handcrafted by the members of the Guild.

Keepsakes, the museum shop at Brookgreen Gardens, offers a large variety of unique items for you and for your home.
